The surgery telephone number is 0 1 2 0 0 4 2 1 9 0 0. We are open from eight thirty a m until six thirty in the evening, we are also open on Saturday mornings for urgent appointments only. A home visit can be arranged over the telephone so please call if you need us. We are based is in the centre of Clitheroe just across from the Clitheroe Council car park. Our building is also near the railway station, just behind Dawsons Department Store.

The Castle Medical Group is based at the Clitheroe Health Centre. Our dedicated team of Doctors and healthcare professionals cover a large part of the Ribble Valley, caring for over fourteen thousand patients.
The medical practice is committed to providing high quality continuing care within the community, providing a full range of N H S and private services including maternity, child health, sexual health and elderly health screening.
We have an extensive and well equipped treatment room, based in Clitheroe Health Centre, providing over thirty thousand individual treatments per year. The centre houses E C G equipment and a minor surgical room.
Our in-house dispensary offers a full dispensing service. Repeat Prescriptions can be ordered securely online.
Clitheroe Health Centre provides community services including chiropody, audiology and speech therapy, together with a wide range of clinics. District nurses, health visitors, midwifes and school nurses are an integral part of the medical team. The practice Doctors also help support Clitheroe Community Hospital and we operate a small annexe.
The practice area covers a large part of the Ribble Valley, including the town of Clitheroe itself. The area extends from Clitheroe northward to the parish of Bolton By Bowland, eastward to Rimington, westward to Chaigley and southward to Pendleton.
Villages within the practice area include Bashall Eaves, Bolton by Bowland, Chaigley, Chatburn, Downham, Gisburn, Grindleton, Hurst Green, Mearley, Mitton, Pendleton, Rimington, Sawley, Twiston, Waddington, West Bradford, and Worston.
The Practice Manager is Phil Mileham who looks after the administration and manages the staff. The Reception Team organise all the appointments and surgeries, and are usually the first point of contact with the practice. They may be consulted about appointments and handle requests for home visits, telephone calls, test results etc. The Administration Team handle all the secretarial work, including referrals to hospital and letters to patients regarding immunisations and other health checks.
Members of the Reception and Administration Teams are authorised by the Doctors to provide information to patients, and may well ask for further information when you call. Patients should be assured that all staff members are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Doctors.
There are now 8 Doctors in partnership to form The Castle Medical Group and we also employ three part time Doctors as Assistants in General Practice.
The practice Nurses are Sister Merle Allen who is the Clinical Manager, Sister Trudy Howe who is the Practice Nurse and Sister Lorraine Martin who is also a Practice Nurse.
The three Practice Nurses are based at the annexe at number 6 Railway View Road. They assist the Doctors in the practice and provide services such as cervical smears, elderly health checks, new patient medicals and the monitoring of various conditions including diabetes, asthma and cardiovascular problems. They are also able to offer advice on a wide range of medical issues including anxiety, minor illness, travel abroad and lots more.
The Practice Nurses are also our health promotion experts
and can offer advice and provide information on a wide range of topics including

Sister Anne Geldard and Sister Jackie Wain are two District Nursing Sisters attached to the practice, together with Staff and Auxiliary Nurses. This team provides expert nursing care and advice to patients in their own homes and are based in Clitheroe Health Centre. They can be called on 0 1 2 0 0 4 2 1 8 2 0
Our Health Visitors are Mrs Liz Dean, Mrs Sandra Gilluly and Mrs Carolyn Pashby. The Health Visitors offer advice on all aspects of child care and development, and promote good health through education, advice and support. The Health Visitors support the Doctors in the immunisation of children and developmental assessments. However, Health Visitors not only provide support to families with young children, but also promote good health throughout the adult and elderly community, including support to those people caring for others. Each pregnant mother will have a named midwife who she will meet in the first few weeks of pregnancy. The midwife is one of a team based within the community who run antenatal clinics and parentcraft classes.
The Ribble Valley has a team of specialist mental health workers based at Clitheroe Hospital. You may be referred to members of the team and gain access to other local services such as counselling and clinical psychology by referral from your Doctor. The team are specially trained to provide confidential help and support to individuals of all ages with mental health problems, and are qualified to use a wide range of therapeutic and counselling skills.
